AZFirst Donor Privacy Policy – Adopted 2026


Applies to: All information we receive from donors online and offline, across our website, email, forms, events, mailings, phone, text/SMS, and any other electronic, written, or oral communications.

 

1) Our Commitment to Donors

AZFirst values the trust our supporters place in us. We will not sell, share, or trade donors’ names or personal information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations, without the donor’s explicit consent. This commitment covers all information we receive through any channel.

 

If any donation is processed by a third‑party service provider (e.g., a payment processor), donor information will be used only for purposes necessary to process the donation and support fraud prevention and required financial reporting.

 

2) Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with AZFirst, we may collect:

  • Identification & contact: name, mailing address, email, phone.

  • Donation details: gift amount(s), date(s), designations, tribute/honor information.

  • Payment: payment card type, last four digits, and transaction metadata (note: full card numbers are processed securely by our payment provider; AZFirst does not store full card numbers).

  • Engagement: event attendance, volunteer interests, survey responses, and preferences.

  • Online activity: IP address, device/browser data, and cookie information used to improve our site experience (see “Cookies & Online Data” below).
     

3) How We Use Donor Information

We use donor information to:

  • Process and acknowledge contributions, provide tax receipts, and maintain accurate records.

  • Communicate about the impact of your giving, programs, events, and opportunities to get involved, consistent with your communication preferences.

  • Improve our fundraising, programs, and website experience through aggregated analytics.

  • Comply with audits, legal obligations, and reporting requirements.
     

4) Sharing & Disclosure

  • No sale or sharing without consent. We do not sell, share, or trade donor information with other organizations, and we do not send mailings on behalf of other organizations without prior donor consent.

  • Vendors & processors. We may share limited information with trusted vendors (e.g., payment processors, mailing houses, email platforms) solely to perform services on our behalf under confidentiality and security obligations.

  • Legal, safety, and compliance. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

 

5) Public Recognition

We may list donor names in annual reports or donor walls unless you request anonymity. Donation amounts are not published unless you authorize us to do so.

 

6) Your Choices: Opt‑Outs & Preferences

  • Communications: You can opt out of postal mail, email, SMS, or phone appeals at any time.

  • Anonymity: You can make your gift anonymous and/or request that your name be omitted from recognition lists.

  • Mailing lists: You may request removal from any internal mailing list at any time.

7) Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to our size and operations, including encrypted payment processing (SSL/TLS), access controls, staff training, and periodic reviews.

We retain donor records only as long as necessary for stewardship, audits, and legal/tax purposes, after which we securely delete or anonymize them, consistent with finance and record‑retention standards referenced by accountability frameworks.

 

9) Cookies & Online Data

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember settings, improve site functionality, and understand aggregate usage. You can adjust cookie settings in your browser; some features may not function without certain cookies.

 

10) Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly solicit or accept personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent and take steps to delete such information if obtained inadvertently.

 

11) Cross‑Border & Third‑State Considerations

If you donate from outside Arizona or outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S. Privacy and fundraising rules can vary by state; AZFirst endeavors to honor applicable requirements and watchdog best practices for transparency.
